Vito L Tanzi. PhD, JD, MPH, is the founder of Global
Healthcare Management LLC which assists hospitals, management consulting
organizations and pharmaceutical companies in the US and Middle East to
optimize financial performance, quality initiatives, and health outcomes. His unique perspective comes from over 15
years in healthcare management in both academic and for-profit hospital
settings, as well as international health development agencies. His interests are in health economics & finance,
pricing, pharmacoeconomics, outcomes research, reimbursement, and market access.
Dr. Tanzi earned his PhD in health economics from Johns Hopkins University. He also earned his law degree (JD) from Concord University School of Law; and a MPH in International Health Administration from Boston University. He completed his undergraduate degree in Economics from George Washington University.
Dr. Tanzi is also an Assistant Professor of Health Policy and Management in the Faculty of Health Sciences of the American University of Beirut. He teaches courses in health economics and health accounting & finance. He is also the Financial Vice-President of the Hammoud Hospital University Medical Center. Prior to founding Global Healthcare Management LLC, he worked for the World Bank, Abt Associates, Battelle, Medtap International, Covance, and the George Washington University Medical Center. Dr. Tanzi is fluent in English, Italian, and French and has working knowledge of Spanish and Arabic.
Zena G. Hammoud, MDDr. Hammoud is an America board certified physician in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. She completed her Medical Degree at
Pennsylvania State Medical School and her post-graduate education at the George
Washington University Medical Center in Washington DC. She also holds a Master
of Science degree in Microbiology from Boston University Medical Center. She is the Medical Vice President of the
Hammoud Hospital University Medical Center (Lebanon) and is an adjunct Assistant
Professor of Medicine at George Washington University. She also holds clinical
teaching appointments at the Beirut Arab University Medical School postgraduate
training program. Among her
responsibilities at Hammoud Hospital University Medical Center she heads the
infection control committee and the Internal Medicine Residency Program.
Dr. Hammoud is the co-founder and president of a healthcare consulting company based in Washington DC, Global Healthcare Management. Her principal areas of interest and expertise are nosocomial infections, infection control, post-operative infections and travel medicine. She is fluent in English, Arabic and German.
